These small flies might resemble fruit flies but they have a distinct hump on their backs that distinguishes them from the common fruit fly. Phorid flies are small and only grow up to ¼ in or 6 mm long. The preferred habitat of these flies is anywhere warm and humid with an abundance of organic, decaying matter for them to feed off of.
Due to their environment and the fact they are found in and around unsanitary conditions, phorid flies have been known to carry around diseases and distribute them to human food sources. Because of this, it is a good idea to get rid of a phorid fly infestation in your home. Miller Pest & Termite and our trained exterminators can take care of your fly problem in no time.
