Why Earwigs Are Common in Springfield

Our Earwig Control Process

Earwig control at Miller Pest Solutions starts outside. We apply an exterior perimeter barrier treatment along the foundation, targeting mulch beds, ground-level entry points, and the underside of landscaping elements near the house. This disrupts the primary harborage areas and kills earwigs before they reach entry points.

We also evaluate the immediate environment around the foundation — mulch depth, drainage patterns, lighting placement, and vegetation contact with the structure. Simple habitat modifications (pulling mulch back from the foundation, fixing drainage that keeps soil wet, reducing outdoor lighting near entry doors) significantly reduce earwig pressure long-term.

For indoor infestations, we treat baseboards and the perimeter of affected rooms with residual insecticide, focusing on moisture-prone areas. Entry points are identified and sealed where possible.
