Why Flies Are Common in Springfield

Nebraska summers are warm and humid — perfect breeding conditions for house flies and blow flies. Open fields, agricultural activity, and the organic material that comes with suburban and rural landscapes give flies ample breeding sites close to homes. Our Fly Control Process

Miller Pest Solutions doesn’t rely on a single product or a one-size approach. Different fly species require different methods.

Cluster fly prevention starts with exterior perimeter treatments applied in late summer or early fall, before these flies begin aggregating. We treat the exterior building envelope — especially south and west-facing walls — to knock down flies before they enter. We also help identify and seal gaps in the building envelope that allow entry in the first place.

House fly and blow fly control involves identifying and eliminating breeding sources (organic material, garbage staging areas, pet waste zones), then applying bait stations or residual treatments around entry points and harborage areas. If flies are getting in, we find out where.

Fruit fly and drain fly treatment targets the source — not just adult flies. We inspect and treat drains with enzyme-based cleaners that break down the organic biofilm these flies breed in, combined with treatment of any other harborage areas. Killing adult flies without addressing the source is temporary at best.

Commercial fly control includes UV light trap installation, scheduled bait station service, and documentation for health assessment compliance.
