Des Moines-based pest control company, founded in 2001, celebrates a quarter-century of service at Principal Park on September 11

CLIVE, IA — Miller Pest Solutions, a family-founded pest control company serving Des Moines and the greater Midwest, is celebrating 25 years in business this year. The company will mark the milestone on Friday, September 11, by hosting First Responder Appreciation Night at Principal Park during the Iowa Cubs game.

A quarter-century of Midwest pest control

Miller Pest Solutions was founded in 2001 by Jerry Miller, who brought two decades of industry experience to the venture after serving as a branch manager for a local Des Moines pest control company. What began as a single-market operation has grown into a regional provider covering four states — Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas — with offices in Clive, Omaha, and Kansas City.

Today the company serves thousands of Midwest homeowners and businesses with residential pest control, termite treatment, rodent control, bed bug treatment, mosquito control, and commercial pest control for restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, and property managers.

Marking 25 years on September 11

Rather than a corporate celebration, Miller Pest Solutions is spending the anniversary with local first responders. The company is hosting a private picnic in the Hy-Vee Mezzanine at Principal Park before the Iowa Cubs game, with Miller’s mascot, Bugsy, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at 7:00 p.m. ahead of the 7:08 p.m. game time.

“Twenty-five years of Miller Pest Solutions wouldn’t be possible without the people who show up for our community every single day,” said Joel Miller, Owner of Miller Pest Solutions. “Spending September 11 with the people who show up for everyone else is how we wanted to mark it.”
