  • Brown recluse indicators: Small, violin-shaped marking on the cephalothorax (front section). Found in undisturbed, dark spaces — boxes, clothing not worn often, under furniture, in wall voids.
  • High insect activity: Lots of flies, moths, or other insects indoors means a food source that draws spiders in.
